WHO IS THE EXPLODING BAKERY?

The Exploding Bakery is a volcano. A little one in Devon, constantly erupting with ideas, recipes and zest to blow the world of cake inside out. We’re a get-hands-doughy bunch of flavour obsessives who gag at the sight go frilly cupcakes.

We can’t promise to crack world peace and solve climate change before breakfast, but we vow to do our bit. We believe that good cakes come from the core that’s why we pay farms fairly. Demand dynamite ingredients and ban all nasties. Like baking great cake, it takes time.

But from small things, big things one day come.

Today, we supply cakes to legendary spots like Fortnum & Mason, run a thriving online cake shop, and still keep things real at our café in Exeter, where it all began. We stay true to our roots with a focus on sustainability, sourcing ingredients from ethical producers like Casa Luker (chocolate), Food & Forest (nuts), Shipton Mill (flour), Trewithen Dairy (milk and butter), and St Ewe (eggs).

Plus, we share profits with our crew and support environmental causes through 1% For The Planet.
