Exploding Bakery wholesale cakes

Exploding Bakery began life as a small café in Exeter back in 2011. What started as a handful of cakes baked for our own counter has grown into a bakery supplying cafés and retailers across the UK.

Quality ingredients matter

Great cake starts with great ingredients. That’s why we’re fussy about what goes into everything we bake.

We use organic flour from Shipton Mill, a family-run mill known for its commitment to quality and regenerative agriculture. Our chocolate comes from Luker Chocolate, a Colombian company that supports sustainable cacao farming and forest protection. We also bake with rich butter from Trewithen Dairy in Cornwall, alongside free-range St. Ewe eggs and carefully sourced nuts and fruits discarding monoculture farming methods.

Choosing better ingredients doesn’t just make ethical sense, it also produces cakes with deeper flavour, better texture and a more satisfying finish.

At Exploding Bakery we believe good cake should also be responsible cake. That means avoiding unnecessary additives, using ingredients we trust and working with suppliers who care about how food is grown and produced.

We’re also members of 1% for the Planet, donating a portion of our revenue to environmental causes including Surfers Against Sewage, helping protect the waters and landscapes close to home here in the South West.
