Annie and Sam moved to Bridport in 2015, found their garden groaning with ripe fruit, and did what any sane person would do: went to gelato school in Bologna. Annie came back as a trained gelatiere, slinging scoops made with proper local stuff. Baboo Gelato was born. We love the spontaneity and the resourceful thinking behind it all.

 

Fast forward: they’ve set up cafes and kiosks in Lyme Regis, Morcombelake, Swanage, West Bay, and Weymouth. The best thing? They’ll even post tubs of the good stuff to your door. 


We first linked up when Baboo came looking for cake that actually tasted like something.They craved cakes made with real ingredients, without horrible fake colours or additives. That's when The Exploding Bakery showed up at the scene.  Our slabs now sit proudly alongside their scoops. 

Then Spring hit. Sun came out. Minds wandered. We had an idea: mash up our Cherry Crumble Cake with their gelato. The result? A limited-edition summer flavour that’s got crunch, cream, and serious cherry energy.
